Configure a SIP Trunk on a DYNASTAR MTG200
To configure a SIP trunk on a Dynastar MTG200, you'll need to access the device's web GUI and configure the SIP trunk settings. This involves setting the IP address, registration details (if required), authorization data (username and password), and other parameters like codecs and DTMF settings.

- Open a web browser and enter the MTG200's IP address in the address bar.
- Log in using the default username and password (usually "admin" and “admin@123#) or the credentials you set during initial configuration.
- The default IP is 192.168.11.1 or 192.168.11.150
Navigate to SIP Trunk Settings:

Locate the "SIP Trunk" or "Trunk" settings within the web GUI.
The exact location may vary depending on the MTG200's firmware version, but it's typically under SIP Config "SIP Trunk".
PRI Trunk Modify
The Switch has to be set at the network side.

Configure Basic Information:
Name: Give the SIP trunk a descriptive name for easy identification.
Trunk Status: Enable the SIP trunk.
ITSP Template: Select "General" or a relevant template if available.
Apply Changes:
Save the changes by clicking the "Apply", "Ok" or "Save" button.
Testing:
After applying the changes, test the SIP trunk by making and receiving calls.
Troubleshooting:
- Firewall: Ensure your firewall rules allow traffic between the MTG200 and our network.
- IP Conflicts: Verify that the MTG200's IP address does not conflict with other devices on your network.
- Codecs: Ensure that the codecs are compatible.
Default Credentials and Changing the Password
When accessing the MTG200 web GUI for the first time or after a factory reset, use the following default credentials:
- Username: admin
- Password: admin@123#
Once logged in, it is strongly recommended to change the default password immediately. To do so:
- Navigate to Management > Password Modification in the web GUI
- Enter the current password
- Enter and confirm the new password
- Click Save
Note: Record the new password in a secure location. The MTG200 does not have a password recovery mechanism through the web interface -- if the password is lost, a factory reset is required to regain access.
Recovering Access After Lockout
If access to the MTG200 web GUI has been lost due to a forgotten or changed password, there are two recovery paths depending on whether the device's IP address is still known.
Option 1 - Factory Reset via RST Button (Recommended)
The MTG200 has a physical RST button on the device. Pressing and holding the RST button resets the device to its factory default settings, including restoring the default IP address and credentials.
- Locate the RST button on the front or rear panel of the MTG200
- With the device powered on, press and hold the RST button for 10 seconds until the indicator lights flash
- Release the button and allow the device to restart (approximately 60 seconds)
- Once restarted, the device will be accessible at the default management IP address: 192.168.11.1 (FE1 Management Interface)
- Log in using the default credentials: admin / admin@123#
- Reconfigure the SIP trunk settings as the factory reset will have cleared all configuration
Warning: A factory reset erases all configuration on the device including SIP trunk settings, routing rules, and dial plans. Have the SIP trunk configuration details available before performing a reset so the device can be reconfigured immediately afterward. Refer to the Configure a SIP Trunk section above for reconfiguration steps.
Option 2 - Console Access via RS232 (Advanced)
If a factory reset is not possible or desirable, the MTG200 has an RS232 console port that can be used to access and debug the device directly.
- Connect a serial cable from the RS232 port on the MTG200 to a laptop or console server
- Use a terminal application (PuTTY, SecureCRT) set to 115200 bps baud rate
- Log in using the console credentials and reset the web GUI password from the command line
Note: Console access requires technical knowledge of Linux-based device administration.
Option 3 - IP Address Recovery (If IP is unknown)
If the device's IP address has been changed and is no longer known, holding the RST button (as in Option 1) will also restore the default management IP to 192.168.11.1, allowing access without a full factory reset in some firmware versions. If this does not work, a full factory reset is required.
