Snom - Automated Zero Touch Provisioning

Updated at October 7th, 2024

How Does Automated Zero-Touch Work with Snom?

Snom enables secure, automated zero-touch phone provisioning. You can manage your customers' phones remotely and avoid unnecessary on-site visits. The cloud-based service is free of charge and offers our partners many benefits in everyday business operations. Users can, for example, set up call forwarding rules and create provisioning templates anytime and from anywhere.

When a Snom phone connects for the first time to the Internet, it contacts SRAPS (Secure Redirection and Provisioning Service) at Snom, which contains an entry for its MAC address; it provides the configuration to the phone so that the phone either retrieves its entire configuration file from SRAPS (auto-provisioning) or is redirected to its final configuration server (redirection).

When you provision the phone in the portal, the enhancement to Zero Touch is the automation between Snom and our Endpoints Server that will check the MAC address and add it to the Snom SRAPS, if required, reducing the time to provision the phone.
