Call Forwarding and Simultaneous Ringing (Answering Rules)
How to configure call forwarding and simultaneous ringing for an extension using Answering Rules.
Getting Started
Users
As the user login to the web portal and select the Answering Rules tab.

Administrators
Administrators can manage another user's answering rules by selecting the Users tab, then selecting the Pencil Icon next to the user, and finally selecting Answering Rules.

Forwarding Options
Select the icon next to the Active (usually "Default") Time Frame to modify call forwarding settings. Further information on timeframes can be found here:
Working with Time Frames

Here, you can enable the following options: choose the option you are interested in.
- Call Screening
- Call Forwarding
- Simultaneous Ringing
Call Screening
- The caller will be prompted to record their name
- You will be notified of the caller's name
- You may choose to either answer, direct to voicemail or reject the call
Do Not Disturb
- Do not disturb makes inbound calls skip ringing any devices and instead go directly to your voicemail.
Call Forwarding
Here is the behaviour for each setting in call forwarding:
- Always - Selecting this option and entering a destination will ALWAYS send ALL CALLS to the configured destination
- When Busy - Selecting this option will forward calls to the configured destination when you are on an active call or do not disturb has been enabled on the phone.
- When Unanswered, Use this option to send the call to the configured destination. When you cannot answer the call, the default destination is your mailbox (if present). Enabling this forwarding rule may prevent callers from reaching your voice mailbox.
- When Offline - Use this to configure a destination to send calls to when your phone is not connected to the system; this can be helpful during Internet or power outages
- Configure the forwarding as you like, and then press Save
In this example, calls are forwarded to 519-686-4343 if the phone is disconnected.
Simultaneous Ringing
Answer Confirmation for Offnet Numbers
- Enables a feature that will require you to press 1 when accepting a forwarded call to an external number
- Enabling this feature is recommended if you add external phones to the system.
- Protects the call from entering the personal mailbox of the other number
Ringing Additional Phones
- Enter either another extension or phone number into the text box
-
Add more than 1 additional ringing phone -
Remove the entry box if you no longer wish to use that destination -
Delay - used to configure a delay before the other phones begin to ring - When you are done with your settings, press Save
In this example, extension 9049 will ring simultaneously with the desk phone. If neither the desk phone nor x. 9049 answers, the external 226 number will begin ringing 5 seconds later.
