How Do I Configure a Lamp Field (BLF) For Monitoring Queue Status?
Prerequisits
Office Manager or higher access to the portal.
Concept
This article covers the use case in which a customer wants visibility into whether agents are logged in or out of a queue. This would allow agents to easily see whether they are logged in/logged out of a queue by looking at a button on their phone. Agents can toggle their availability to all of their assigned call queues by pressing the same button. The feature links provisioning of a BLF/presence button on the phone to a dial translation that allows the device to display the lamp field in a way different from the standard user BLF functionality.
Procedure
- Log in to the Portal and navigate to Inventory > Phone Hardware.
- Click the cog icon on the right side of the supported device you wish to enable this feature on.
- Find the line you want to add the button to and select the Queue Toggle option from the Select a Feature drop-down menu.

- Log in and out of ALL call queues currently configured for the device specified on Line 1.
- You can add a custom label if desired; otherwise, the label Toggle Availability will be displayed. Click Save once you have completed the configuration.
- The result of this configuration is that the configured button shows the equivalent of an available user BLF (Busy Lamp Field) status on the device when the user is logged into one or more call queues, and the equivalent of an in-use/busy status (often red) when the user is logged out of all call queues.
